Bloomingdales Little Brown Card
During my time at Burgopak I worked on a large number of projects customizing their patented sliding packaging system to fit various client’s needs and products. I also added features to the patents and developed completely new patented designs.
The little brown card project was one that I am incredibly proud of. I was working on developing a range of card packages that could be used for gift cards, credit cards, sim cards etc.
I realized that if I extended the pull card I could add a hangtab that would disappear inside the package when it was opened and lock the package shut when it was hanging on the peg.
I started to look at other options for the hangtab and soon realized that I could create a shopping bag handle and create the silhouette of a shopping bag that would be a perfect product for gift and store cards.
Bloomingdales brown bags were an obvious place to start. I went to the meeting with a colleague in the sales team and we sold the concept to Bloomingdales.
They used it for at least a decade and is something I am incredibly proud of.
